You would have to think that there was plenty of marching going on at the NYMA, and what military photo album would be complete without an image of cadets on the march?

At least the cadets had a great view of the mountains to keep thier minds off the drudgery of marching.

Of course not everything was drill, drill, drill at the academy, and what could be better than a nice quiet game of golf to calm the nerves?

Check out the scenery in the background, how picturesque! I'd love to be there taking in all that fresh mountain air.

Here's another photo of some cadets playing golf.

The photo album was split pretty much between sports and military action. I guess the author of the photo album wanted the viewers to know that it was not all work at the academy.

What military academy would be complete without a football team? The New York Military Academy photo album has a couple of images of football.

I can't imagine actually counting on those real pigskin football helmets to protect a skull from being fractured after taking a tackle.

NYMA football team of 1898

This image is theonly other football image that was in the photo album, but at least it's a good one. The photo shows the NYMA football team of 1898 posing for a photo just before the big game.

These are some serious looking fellas! I certainly wouldn't want to go up against any of these guys in a football game.

Baseball at the NYMABaseball too

Unfortunately there was only one photo of a baseball game in the photo album. Maybe the game wasn't as popular as it is today.
